I used to get called names like Wardrobe or Chewbacca/Chewie because of my imposing frame (198cm/6’6″) and copious amounts of body/facial hair. However “the tall man” is the name that stuck.
Formerly the weird kid in school, I am now a seasoned Cybersecurity Professional, because that sounds much more down-to-earth than Expert or Specialist. Nowadays, I get to use my my obsession with patterns, structures, and abstract problem-solving in Cyber Threat Intelligence – thankfully without the toilet swirlies. You can also probably catch me trying to improve the way we think in cybersecurity, either on stage or an office hallway. If that’s your thing.
Further interests in cybersecurity include writing and dissecting malware as well as emulating bad guys. Oh, and if you give me the same task more than once, I will most likely automate it.
When I’m not dissecting bad guys in the trenches, I enjoy the dulcet tones of an acoustic guitar and getting my butt kicked in chess.
None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of my amazing partner. She truly is my partner in crime, although I still need to figure out what’s so illegal about going on hikes and eating way too many gyoza.
